React to Bad Passes

Purpose
Fast reactions can help prevent a turnover. This drill works on sharpening hand-eye coordination to reel-in inaccurate passes.

  • Setup

    Pair-up and choose worker (A) and feeder (B) who stand 1 to 2 metres apart, facing one another.
  • Step 1

    (B) feeds a fast chest pass to (A). It can be anywhere they player can reach it without moving their feet.
    Mix it up, with most passes missing (A)'s body
    Vary the height and pace of the pass to add difficulty.
  • Step 2

    (A) reels the pass in with a one-handed catch, or a two-handed catch if possible (however in many instances it will require a single hand to reach).
  • Step 3

    (A) brings the ball back to their core and returns to (B) with a chest pass.
  • Step 4

    Repeat for 30 seconds then swap roles.
