  • Setup

Set out 2 cones for each player to touch, 5m wide, spaced at 2m intervals. Coach (C) stands in front with a ball. Order players from shortest to tallest from (C) so all players can see the coach.
  • Step 1

Coach (C) holds the ball aloft in 2 hands, then flicks it left or right. Players must sprint to their cone on that side, anchor a foot right next to the cone, then push off and sprint back to the centre.
Players should keep their eyes on (C) at all times, not simply turn and sprint in that direction.
Rather than flick the ball, you may just hold with one hand at 10 or 2'o'clock position.
Challenge players not to be the last one back
  • Step 2

Wait until everyone is back in position then pick the next random (left / right) direction. Work everyone for 1 minute.
  • Step 3

Progression: Players face away from (C) and respond to calls of 'left!' or 'right' instead of visual cues.
