1-2 Passing Triangle

Purpose
A very simple warm-up passing drill to get plenty of touches.

  • Setup

    Groups of (3), choose a worker (A) who has a ball and is involved in every pass exchange, 2 others - (B) with a ball & (C) - stand 2-3m away, 45 degrees from (A).

  • Step 1

    Starting at 50% intensity, (A) passes to (C), then quickly turns to receive from (B)

  • Step 2

    (A) passes back to (B), then turns to receive from (C)
    (A) simply performs a 1-2 pass with each player, receiving first.

  • Step 3

    Gradually increase intensity (faster & less delay between passes) over 30-45 seconds until the player is working at 100% intensity
    When at full intensity, (A) will be passing and receiving in very quick succession.

  • Step 4

    Rotate so everyone has a turn at (A)

  • Step 5

    Progressions can include:-
    Pass across the body - left hand to (C), right hand to (B)
    Shorten the distance; catch & flick pass in left-hand only to (B), catch & flick pass in right-hand only to (C)
    Lengthen distance to (A)
