Centre Pass: (C) Double Play

Purpose

Open-up a central corridor of space for (C) to exploit to complete a double play following their centre pass.

Setup
Choose 2 teams of 4 v 4 - choose who starts in attack and assign positions (include C + WA + GA + GS and their defenders).
Step 1
On 'go!' simulate a centre pass situation. (WA & GA) start centrally and lead wide, (C) passes to best option

All defenders including defending (C) must play 1-on-1 defence

Progression 1 work at 50% intensity, with defending (C) simply providing delaying pressure
Step 2
(C) slips down the open centre corridor to receive a return lob pass as near to the circle as possible

(WA & GA) stay wide to take their defenders from the play

(GS) stands near the post to take (GK) out of striking distance
Step 3
Finish with (C) passing to (GS), who takes a shot

(GK) attempts to intercept
Step 4
Rotate players on and off as required. You can keep players in their specialist positions, or swap attackers and defenders.
Step 5
Progress by enabling defending (C) to shadow and intercept.
