Double Play Shuttles

Preliminary Moves & Passing.
Purpose
Slick footwork and sharp ball handling is required to perform seamless double plays down the court.

  • Setup

    Use 1/3 of the court to mark the length of a 10m line. Coach/player stands at (C).
  • Step 1

    (A) performs a (1-2) pass with (C). (A) finishes with a second pass to (B)
  • Step 2

    (B) performs a (1-2) pass with (C) then back to (A), completing the loop.
  • Step 3

    Progression: Lengthen distance between (A & B), add another feeder to the sideline. Moving player must initiate a double play with every player on the sideline.
    Pause for recovery (especially if low on numbers), then resume at full-intensity
  • Step 4

    Advanced level progressions:-
    Feeders make the passes slightly off-target, require a jump and/or one-handed catch to control
    Use different passing hand from either end
