Purpose

Receiving a penalty pass enables you to run set plays to take advantage of the spare player. This particular strategy is used when you've received a penalty within the centre third.

Setup
Choose teams and setup as per the diagram. You can practice from various starting points around the centre third, but start where [WD] is.
Step 1
In a situation where the opposition [GD-WD-C] was penalised and you want numbers down-court, look to create a 4-v-3 in the goal third:-

[WD/GD] becomes the passer - in this instance [WD] - the other clears out to the other wing

Run goalie systems, with the leading goalie the primary target.

[C+WA] provide backup leads; it should be easy enough to find one of these players, given one should be free.
Step 2
In a situation where there is the opportunity for quick continuity and you deliver well to an open front-court:-

[C] takes the throw, with [GA/GS] being the primary target depending on your goalie system

[WA] becomes the 2nd option. [WD/GD] divide up the space in the back-court but shouldn't be required.

[C] runs forward after passing to provide support and becomes the link player making the final pass if required.
