Instructions
Visible opposition strip: 3
Setup
Split into two teams, spread out the talent evenly. 4 vs 3 start on the court, the remaining players sit out. Attacking team have a (C) for the first progression, but no defending (C). (GA) and (WA) start on the outside of their opponents.
Step 1
(GA) and (WA) start near the centre but outside the opponents, and both make runs at 45 degrees towards the sidelines.
Step 2
(C) passes to (WA). Space has now opened up down the middle, so (WA) must quickly exploit this by passing back to (C)
(WD) attempts to intercept
Step 3
Meanwhile, (GA) runs across court to the opposite side they started from to provide the next option for (C)
(GD) must try to block their run as effectively as possible
Step 4
(GA) passes to (GS) as close to the post as possible
Use any of the specialised passes to goalie when passing to (GK)
Step 5
Next turn, players remain on the court but defenders become attackers and (C) is replaced with opposition's (C) who sat out the previous turn
If you want players to only play their specialist position, don't switch roles, just repeat
Step 6
After 2 turns, sub-on the inactive players .
Step 7
Advanced level progression: Defending (C) comes into play instead of sitting out.
(C) will need to work harder to find space
Step 8
As a further progression, allow (GD / WD) to start outside if they want. (GA / WA) must work harder to receive out wide
