Preliminary Moves & Passing.
Purpose
Players throw their defender and find space with fast feet and deception. This drill practises 3 different evasive manoeuvres.

Setup
Groups of 3 who require 1/6 of the court and a ball. Groups elect feeder (A) who stands 5m away from attacker (B) and defender (C).
Step 1
(B) has the choice of 3 types of manoeuvres to lose their opponent (C) and receive from (A)...
1. Lead and dodge
2. Lead and Dodge

Up-and-back move
Step 2
(C) should try to intercept the ball if possible. Held ball rule applies, so (A) must pass within 3 seconds - unless you are working with very young players, in which case you can ignore this to work on the technique.
Step 3
Repeat for 1 minute then rotate roles.
